Benadir University, or University of Benadir, abbreviated as BU, is a university located in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Benadir University was founded in 2002 as a medical school to help train Somali doctors.

On the 3rd of December 2009, a bomb blast killed at least 22 people and injured at least 40 at a Benadir University graduation ceremony which was taking place at the Shamo Hotel in Mogadishu. Three government ministers attending the ceremony were among the dead.[1]
